So much of my time these days is consumed with work... and so much each day gets left undone...
And then precious "extra time" is often spent zoning, blogging about my daughter, thinking, thinking...
So much time that an addicted child consumes, even when all precautions are taken.
I wanted to take this brief space and time to say thank you to my husband - He understands the unfathomable, always takes time to listen, and keeps me and this home running so smoothly.... And you should see him soothing a baby, mediating disputes with the young adults in the house and helping with last minute high school projects - often within minutes of coming home from a long commute from his hectic and stressful fast paced office. In this way, my life is so fair.
Thank your support team, whomever they are ...

good reminder!!
Isn't is great to have support? I also have a very supporting hiusband and every day I wonder what I did to deserve him. He has always supported what ever I want ot do, He also has always been wonderful to my children. He thinks of them as his own and i love him more each time I hear him say our or my child(ren). Take all the support you can get. It helps!
I just finished reading your entire blog. My daughter is also addicted to heroin & in jail. Her daughter,13, lives with me now.She is an angry girl, who I believe is smoking pot already. I am really worried for the future of my grandaughter - she was born addicted, so sometimes I think she's doomed from the start, like heroin is part of her very DNA. As much as I am so, so sorry that there are other moms out there going thru similar stuff somehow it feels good to know I'm not alone!

Isn't it wonderful to be married to your best friend? I'm crazy about you, Athena!
I am so blessed to have Andrew's father by my side. We have stood together through this and I have often wondered how I would have made it otherwise.
BTW, I love your posts-you understand it is what it is, so live life with gratitude.
