Plowing Ahead

No new news, except that I got a promotion at work ... and we got quite a lot of snow, which is unusual in this part of Texas... The next time that we have this much snow fall, Landon may have kids of his own!  He likes snow - very much... we have to spell it, S-N-O-W, unless we are prepared to take him out.

We have a nice park across the street from our house - I thought it would be fun for him to go for a walk, and he agreed - unfortunately, I envisioned the sidewalk that ambles around the park as a nice clear path through the snow. In reality we found about 5 foot of walk fairly clear, and on each side a treacherous path that a few intrepid dog owners had tracked through, leaving footprints that had crusted over with ice...

Of course, Landon was ready to plow ahead, blissfully unaware of the challenges of that path. We slipped through several yards before I decided we needed to turn back...

Daughter's "boyfriend" is out of jail as of last week. New baby due within 2 weeks. The other grandparents will have Landon for the third week of this month.  I wish the path ahead was clearer.

Moving Forward

sometimes, when you don't know what to do, you just sit back and wait..and then the path becomes very clear and what you need to do is staring you right in the face.

my life is doing that to me right now. the waiting is hardest.

Congratulations on the promotion. I think anyone who thinks the path ahead is clear is having a moment that will end. I can't wait to read about how all this unfolds. Change is on the way.

I agree with Fractal..just wait. And know that right now just may be the most peaceful time..

Sounds like some crazy shit could break loose any time.

You go, girl!! My kids loved the snow here in East Tx. It is turning to mush now!

Congrats on the promotion! In this photo Landon reminds me of a childhood book I loved called "Snowy Day". I hope things become a bit more settled. Let us know when grandbaby girl arrives.

Congratulations on the promotion!

Prayers continue for that precious granddaughter that is coming soon, and for your whole family. Have you been working on that blanket you mentioned making?

Hope things become clearer and more settled as you wait and watch.

What an adorable picture! I agree also with Fractalmom, the path always become clear when it is supposed to, until then, continue to enjoy the present path. I love that the path you walked with Landon was not clear from "challenges" either, but a grand time was had. Congratulations on the promotion, that is fantastic news.

Nice with the promotion and the snow. I was like Langdon--out in it until after midnight here. We had a lot of fun. We don't know the path ahead. Just one day at a time and one step at a time.

I think the snow has gotten to all of us. I can't help but smile at that picture.

I came here to ask a favor of you. I, too, am a blogger. I blog on the platform of motherhood or "mommy blogging" if you will. Yours is one of the first "addiction blogs" that I found forever ago.

Since I've had experience with addiction I've decided to dedicate a section of my blog to it. Most of my readers are naive to the subject, and are parents. I'm hoping to spread awareness by sharing the stories of others (addicts and their families). If you are interested in helping I would greatly appreciate it.

You can e-mail me at mama2boys2010 (at) live (dot) com. Also, check out my website at http://atomicmom.typepad.com

Thanks in advance! Love your blog!

Wow! Cool snow picture! What part of Texas are you in, if you don't mind my asking? Do not answer if you are uncomfortable posting that here. [I ask because I grew up in Texas and lived there until 15 years ago, when the need to eat caused hubby and I to have to relocate to Louisiana for employment! (ha,ha)]

I pray that your path becomes clearer as time passes...

Hugs,
Cheri

Hi Cheri - I don't mind telling you we are in Mesquite - DFW area. We got 11.5 inches here when the snow pics were taken... quite historic!
