Baby is back here with us...
Did I over-react? No. His parents are addicts and the other grandparents do not know how to say no to them, but will go to great lengths to cover up.
Not sure what happened, except they bailed my daughter out so she could be with their son - we were scheduled to pick the baby up tonight at 7:30pm - The other grandmother called about 11 am to ask if we could meet their daughter at 12:30pm to get the baby - supposedly grandpa wasn't feeling well. Maybe they realized they'd been conned - I don't know. My daughter hasn't called me, still. Which is fine. Her actions speak pretty clearly. She was straight, in jail anyway, and still manipulating anyone who will let her.
Fractal mom is right... what I want for my daughter and what I can actually do for my daughter right now don't seem to have much in common, except where not "playing" the game, not "saving" her, not enabling her, and keeping Baby safe are the right things to do.

For now, you can hold Landon, and love him, and be thankful that he's there with you in this moment. I'm trying to do this more with my babies, no matter what happened today or what will happen tomorrow.
Yes, it is the right thing to do for that precious little guy.
I'm afraid your daughter will be back in jail soon. How are the two of them supporting themselves..we don't want to know, right?
Sadly, the less time your daughter has around her son the better. You know what I mean.
Life goes on. Landon does not need to be around that chaos. I know you are so relieved to have him home.
Athena, like you said to me--one foot in front of the other.
I'm glad Landon is home safe and sound. I am praying friend. Keeping on going, just for today. ((HUG))
My husbands parents are similiar to your daughter's boyfriend's parents. They just don't seem to get it. They enable him and cover up everything possible when it comes to him.
It is so frustrating because these people are in such denial and are not helping the situation at all.
I read through a few of your blogs and saw the video of your grandson. He is adorable. How wonderful that you has you. Take care.
you just pour all of that love into that precious boy. he needs you, and he needs to be away from the chaos. He may not understand as a child, a teenager, even a young adult... but one day he will thank you. Give him kisses and hugs for all of us. I am thinking of you today.
One foot in front of the other is right. It keeps us from jumping from impulsive thoughts to quick fixes. God will walk this walk with you and help you keep firmly planted for Landon's sake.
((major hugs))
I think that you are doing what is necessary for your own sanity. And it will likely help your daughter too in the long run. Hug Landon.
Safety first always. God love you all.
