Oh, I hope not

Ever been relaxing, reading a book, drifting off to sleep and have a bone-jarring thought?
I did last night.

What if she's pregnant again?

Could that be why no one has seen or heard from her lately?

There are other explanations, of course. I sure hope so.

I have had those jarring thoughts, how strange how it happens, especailly to us mothers of addicted children. I will pray that God will shine light and love to surround your daughter and you also.

After living with the trauma of loving someone addicted to drugs, I think it is almost like PTSD, we end up with those automatic negative thoughts and I still get them. Out of nowhere some horrible thought comes into my mind and I can't shake it.

It could be. I hope not for everyone's sake, but it's plausible.

I hope not too.

Have you heard anything more? I've often found those gut feelings are more of a sixth sense.

I don't put too much stock in dreams...but that's me.

I really just wanted to tell you I am finally starting Middlemarch. You left a comment a year ago about it, and I said at the time I was going to read that darn book! It might take me a year..it's a thick book..LOL

I envy you, Lou! I need a big fat book right now to get lost in...

"We mortals, men and women, devour many a disappointment between breakfast and dinner-time; keep back the tears and look a little pale about the lips, and in answer to inquiries say, "Oh, nothing!" Pride helps us; and pride is not a bad thing when it only urges us to hide our own hurts – not to hurt others." ~ George Eliot, Middlemarch

And Mom, Fractal, Pat, Marsha, Barbara, All - Thank you for your thoughts - I haven't heard any more from daughter - and the few friends & family I mentioned this thought to basically all said "I've been wondering the same thing!!" - Sigh.

I have another blog post I hope to right soon - soon as I have breathing room and am feeling more reasonable - BUT, in the grand scheme, all is going well, more laughter than tears - much to be said for having a wonderful husband, great family & friends, and a great boss and company to work for - and you all (I have blogs to catch up on!)

"What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult to each other?"
- George Eliot, Middlemarch

I've found it best not to project. I can imagine all kinds of things but the facts are what count.
